The Chair

One-on-one time with God is vital for nurturing a deep and personal relationship with Him, enabling spiritual growth and renewal in our lives. At our church, we understand the importance of carving out intentional moments for prayer, meditation, and studying His word, which is why we are committed to supporting you in cultivating these habits. Here are several helpful tools to help you get you started.

The Lord’s Prayer

Pray like this:

Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
10 May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
    as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today the food we need,
12 and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
13 And don’t let us yield to temptation,
but rescue us from the evil one.

Matthew 6:9-13

The “Names” of God

Jehovah Mephalti: My Deliverer

"The righteous cry, and the Lord heard, and delivered them out of all their troubles. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all." Psalms 34:17, 19

Adonai: Lord

Used in place of YHWH, which was thought by the Jews to be too sacred to be uttered by sinful men. In the Old Testament, YHWH is more often used in God’s dealings with His people, while Adonai is used more when He deals with the Gentiles.

Jehovah M'Kaddesh: The Lord Who Sanctifies You

He is the one who makes us holy and righteous and continues to mature us in His Son, Jesus Christ.

"And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the Lord which sanctify you." Leviticus 20:8

El Elyon: God the Most High/Creator

And if you do, he will set you high above all the other nations he has made. Then you will receive praise, honor, and renown. You will be a nation that is holy to the Lord your God, just as he promised.” Deuteronomy 26:19

EI-Deot: God who knows (all-knowing).

One of God’s attributes is that he is omniscient. This means that He knows everything! He knows what you are going through and how it will be resolved. He holds all creation in the palm of His hand!

Jehovah Jireh: The Lord Will Provide

The Hebrew word Jireh also means "see to it", "experience", and "perceive." This name goes deeper than faith in what He can do but in who He is as the one who has seen the need even beforehand.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19
