Hannah Gallegos: Rising from Uncertainty to Finding Her Path
April 22, 2023
For Hannah Gallegos, the journey to truly embracing her faith was one filled with twists and turns. Raised in a Christian household, she found that as she and her siblings grew older, their focus shifted away from their relationship with God towards other priorities like sports and social lives.
"I have always prayed, and I have always known He is there for me, but I never took that next step and made an effort to know HIM," Hannah reflects.
A pivotal moment came in 2021 when Hannah dropped out of college at just 20 years old and moved back home, unsure of what direction her life would take next. It was mere days before her 21st birthday that she received life-altering news – she was pregnant.
"At that moment I knew it was no longer about what I WANTED, it was about what my new family NEEDED," she says.
With the birth of her son, Hannah and his father made the decision to raise him in a Christian home, enrolling him at Lionheart school. As he grew and came home singing Bible verses and the name of Jesus, Hannah realized that providing him with a Christian environment at home was equally important.
"My one-year-old son brought me closer to God than I have ever been in the past," Hannah shares.
Hannah and her family began attending services at EVC, singing worship songs together, discussing Jesus, and reading the children's Bible. Though she considered herself a believer, she knew there was a deeper step she needed to take.
It was after the "Cross Service" that Hannah made the decisive choice to get baptized. "I knew I was all in," she says. As she shared this pivotal decision with her family, Hannah experienced an overwhelming sense of clarity and peace.
"It was like the confusion, the stress, the anxiety was gone. I knew that was the first of the many great things my Lord would do for me. He washed me of my sins and led me to Him and helped me through the tough season in my life."
Now, Hannah eagerly looks ahead, nurturing that seed with the intention of continual spiritual growth. "I cannot wait to continue to grow in my faith and water the seed to see the amazing beautiful thing that it will become so I can share the beauty with the world."
