“The practical needs are overwhelming at times. Access to medical care, food, clean water, education, and basic resources that many of us take for granted are daily struggles for countless families. Spiritually, we encounter deep darkness in areas where Buddhism, Hinduism, Shamanism, Shintoism, Islam, and other belief systems are deeply rooted. There have been moments where I could physically feel the heaviness and hopelessness in a place. But we have also seen the transforming power of Jesus firsthand. We have watched people who once had no hope surrender their lives to Christ and literally see the light return to their eyes. We have seen entire families and villages changed by the Gospel.
One of the things God has taught me personally is that He can use anyone willing to say yes. I was just an engineer who grew up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle, and for years I believed God couldn’t really use me because I wasn’t a pastor or seminary-trained minister. But now I’m more convinced than ever that God uniquely created every person with specific gifts and a purpose only they can fulfill. Some of the most impactful people I’ve seen lead others to Christ have been electricians, nurses, teachers, engineers, teenagers, retirees, and ordinary people who simply realized God could use them. When people discover what they were created to do for the Kingdom, it is powerful, beautiful, and life-changing. God truly can move mountains through ordinary people surrendered to Him.”
“The support of EVC GO and the generosity of the EVC family have directly enabled us to reach some incredibly remote and difficult places around the world. It takes tremendous prayer, logistics, and resources to lead teams internationally, and your partnership has made that possible. Because of your support, we have been able to take medical teams deep into the Gobi Desert and into floating villages in Cambodia. You have helped us care for deaf children living in a boarding home in Fiji. You have helped support tutoring programs for children in a Lahu village in northern Thailand, where many girls are married off at just 12 years old and never receive an education.
We were also able to help a young widow who had four children by the age of 20 and was struggling to survive. Recently, we traveled to Togo, Africa for the first time, where my wife was able to work with boys who have cerebral palsy and train their caregivers in physical therapy techniques. Watching the joy on those boys’ faces as they stood up for the first time was unforgettable.
Those moments happen because people like you choose to pray, give, and partner with what God is doing around the world. Your support is not abstract, it directly changes lives and opens doors for the Gospel. Over the next 12 months, we will be leading teams to Thailand, Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Japan, Fiji, and Romania. Your prayers and support make those opportunities possible.
One of our greatest desires is to help more people engage personally in missions and discover how God can use their gifts for the Kingdom. We would love to see people from EVC join us on trips and experience firsthand what God is doing around the world. Whether someone is in medicine, business, education, construction, engineering, or simply has a willing heart, God can use them in powerful ways. We are also praying for more churches and Kingdom-minded businesses to partner with projects around the world by helping support church plants, nutrition programs, medical outreach, and care for vulnerable children.
On a personal level, EVC has also given our family something incredibly meaningful, a home church and a community. Life on the mission field can often feel isolating. In 2025 alone, we took 55 flights, 6 trains, 4 boats, and changed hotels or housing more than 70 times across 14 different countries. We are not home very often, but when we are, EVC has given us a local church community. Knowing we have a Life Group, people to worship with, and friends who genuinely care for us has been a greater blessing than you probably realize.
Thank you for being part of what God is doing around the world through your prayers, generosity, encouragement, and friendship.”
